Pricing

Buy the till. Rent only the servers.

One rule decides which side of the line a thing sits on: if it runs on your counter, you buy it once. If it runs on ours, you pay while you use it and stop whenever you like.

Beta

logi-ciel is in open beta and free to use. We have not set launch prices, and we would rather show you the exact shape of the deal now than publish indicative figures we may have to walk back. Everything below is the structure — what you buy, what you subscribe to, and what is in each tier. The amounts land at 1.0, and beta users hear first.

Bought once · perpetual licence

What you own outright

A one-time purchase, tied to your shop, that keeps working with no further payment — including if we disappear. Optional paid annual updates keep you on new releases; declining them never disables what you already have.

Trade editions

Your trade's own workflow, layered onto the same till. Buy only the one you need.

What runs on our servers

These need infrastructure we operate and keep online, so they are priced as a service. None of them has shipped yet. Cancel any of it and your till carries on selling exactly as before — that is the point of the split.

Tier contents are provisional and shaped by what beta users actually ask for. If something is in the wrong tier for your shop, say so — right now that feedback still changes the answer.

The whole thing on one table

Which side is it on?

Perpetual means one payment, kept forever. Subscription means it stops when you stop paying — and the till does not.

Fair questions

If I never subscribe to anything, does the till still work?

Completely. The perpetual licence covers a full point of sale — selling, refunds, cash management, VAT, receipts, reports, staff accounts and the signed ledger. A shop can run on that indefinitely and never pay us again. The subscription tiers only add things that need a server.

What are "paid annual updates" and are they compulsory?

No. Your licence entitles you to the version you bought, forever. An optional annual updates fee keeps you eligible for new releases. Let it lapse and the software you have keeps running unchanged — you simply stop receiving new versions until you renew.

Can I cancel a subscription without losing my data?

Yes. Your sales ledger lives on your till, not on our servers — the subscription services read from it, they do not own it. Cancel and the hosted parts switch off; your trading history stays exactly where it has always been, in a format our open library can verify.

Will beta users pay for the licence at 1.0?

We have not decided, and we are not going to pretend we have. What we can commit to: beta users find out the terms before anyone else, and no beta install will stop working without warning.
